Fei Zi Xiao, developed using Lapsang Souchong production techniques, is sourced from wild old tea trees in Tong Mu Guan. Picked in late April and early May, one bud and two to three leaves are harvested from bushes growing near streams at 1000 meters altitude.
Notes:
With approximately 60,000 to 80,000 pieces required to make 500g, this tea is precious. Its name, "laughing concubine," likely derives from its light lychee fragrance and rich red color resembling flushed cheeks, with black, lustrous leaves akin to hair. Its taste is rich and sweet, perfect for autumn and winter enjoyment.
Brewing Method:
Using a porcelain gaiwan or teapot, brew 3-5g of tea with boiling water at 100°C. Give a quick rinse, which can be discarded or consumed. Each steeping lasts about 15 seconds, with an additional 15 seconds added per infusion, adjusting for desired strength.
