Varietal: Jiu Long Pao (9 Dragon Robe, Zi Hong Pao, Wu Yi varietal #303)
Region: Wuyi Mountains, China
Notes: Jiu Long Pao, also known as Zi Hong Pao is a purple varietal and a natural mutation of Da Hong Pao. The leaves are a beautiful thick, purple/red/green color when fresh; ideal for roasting.
Tasting Notes: The soup is viscous, and through the first 6 infusions, the intensity will impress. Subsequently, the tea can handle longer infusions for a more robust flavor.
Brewing: Known for its delicious and powerful flavor, it is recommended not to discard the rinse but rather give it a 10-second wash and drink it. Adjust brewing time for subsequent infusions to extract deeper flavors while maintaining balance.
