Liu is an artist friend of mine who creates things generally centered around tea. All of his work are "one offs" meaning they are never duplicated making them extremely collectible. Each piece is distinctly its own!
This wooden plate is made from 100 year old jujube wood; it is very dense and absorbs water quite well if you wish to use it as a base for preparing tea. The rim around the outside is made from metals repurposed from the qing dynasty and inlaid with different colors stone that have been polished flat.
